Chapter 16, Mishna 1, 2, 3
If a womanβs childless husband went overseas with her co-wife, and witnesses report he died, the woman must be concerned that the co-wife had a baby, thus prohibiting the first woman to her yavam. A wife may testify that her own husband has died, but her testimony does not exempt a different widow from yibum, if the first womanβs husband was her yavam. What does a witness need to see before s/he can testify that they saw a man die?
