Chapter 1, Mishna 7, 8 May we carry objects in the public domain during a Festival? Certainly, if related to food prep. Yes also, if the objects are directly connected to rejoicing in the Festival. If not connected, there’s a debate… But rejoicing cannot be complete if my table is full, and another’s empty, especially if s/he is my teacher, and all the more, of the God’s altar is empty!
