There is a crucial translation difference in Exodus 19 that reveals Godâs deeper message about freedom. When God commanded the Jewish people to serve Him through the Torahâs commandments, He actually freed them from serving any other person or ideology. The Hebrew word âyovelâ (jubilee) – the same word used for when slaves go free – appears in the original text but gets lost in English translations.
Serving God requires work, study, and commitment, but it offers true liberation because we need fear no man, only God, who loves His children!
